Gillian gained her qualifications as a Remedial Massage Therapist at Victoria University in 1999 and specialized in Oncology & Palliative Care Massage having trained with Gayle MacDonald (Medicine Hands) in her courses Massage for People Living with Cancer and Massage for the Hospital Patient and Medically Frail Client. Gillian has also undertaken Irene Smith’s (Everflowing) course Providing Massage in Hospice Care and has attended a number of training seminars and conferences relating to palliative care, both in Australia and abroad, to support her continued development in this field. Gillian has been a facilitator at Palliative Care Massage Training since 2016. Gillian has worked with patients living with cancer & other life limiting illness since 1999 working in Palliative Care for Community-based organizations. She has created & implemented massage programs at two Palliative Care organizations. Gillian is currently employed at Eastern Palliative Care Association in Melbourne & is contracted by another community service providing massage to clients in their homes. Gillian provides massage in hospitals in their oncology wards and Palliative Care Units and in aged care facilities. Gillian’s work includes Manual Lymphatic Drainage & Touch Therapy. Gillian is a member of Massage & Myotherapy Australia.
