Previous career with American Cancer Society, Philadelphia, in public relations. Transitioned to oncology massage and lymphedema therapy to work one on one with cancer patients instead of sharing their stories through public and media. At ACS I worked closely for several years with volunteers who had been through or were going through cancer treatment. Their openness in sharing personal struggles and successes inspired my desire to provide direct support. My exploration landed in the wonderful field of integrative medicine. I am lucky for switching sides from being on the outside looking in, to my role as part of the inside looking outward.
Therapy provided: post-surgery, during and after chemotherapy treatment, during and after radiation treatment and to manage presentations and complications following resolution of acute stage. On-site treatment room at oncology office located in medical office building of hospital/daytime hours. Safe setting while undergoing and following cancer treatment. Physician's cooperative care plan encouraged so that medical provider(s) is aware of ongoing sessions and all contraindications are acknowledged.
