I am a licensed RN and Massage Therapist in Massachusetts. I have been a member of the AMTA since 1995 and first became nationally certified by NCBTMB in 1994. My first experience in providing massage and bioenergetic field therapies for many people dignosed with cancer began in 2001 when I became an RN Massage Therapist in a hospital-based outpatient cancer clinic. In that position I learned a great deal about the special role that a massage therapist plays within a treatment network of oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, nurses and other specialists, and I had the privelege of knowing and providing complementary therapy for thousands of patients during my seven years of service.
Currently, I am the Coordinator for Integrative Health Services at Falmouth Hospital in Falmouth, MA. and I serve patients with a variety of diagnoses, including cancer. also work privately as a massage therapist in a small holistic therapy practice in South Dennis, MA.
I have repeatedly wittnessed how important massage therapy is as a safe, non-pharmacological treatment that effectively supports people in the process of diagnosis and treatment for cancer, and helps to palliate symptoms of illness and the side effects of treatment. Touch therapies are also of great benefit for wellness care in survivorship and for comfort and integration at the end of life. In whatever context I may find myself working with people, I always strive to offer the most appropriate hands-on intervention in an atmosphere of positive and supportive relationship, focusing on well-being, comfort, relaxation, humor and especially truth.
